Higher education plays very important role in the development and upliftment of the society and the nation. Education makes the man perfect. Education doesn’t aim at what you GET, it aims at what you BECOME. It is a process during which a man becomes humane in his thinking and behavior. Taking this into consideration in order to benefit the students of Junagadh District with higher education & upliftment in life. Yadunandan Education Trust, Junagadh started Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati Arts & Commerce College, Junagadh in 1976 at Kalwa Chowk.

From June 1982 only the women were given priority in this college & in 1983 this college was converted into Dr. Subhash Mahila Arts, Commerce & Home Science College. At present this college is working in the PWD building on rented basis. It was decided to shift at Dr. Subhash Academy, Khamdhrol Rly. Crossing, Junagadh in the beginning, but as it was located in the central area of the city & the shifting would effect the strength of the students, the idea was postponeded. The new units like B.Ed., P.T.C etc. began at the new location.

Now that the grant from UGC is availed, a new building of hostel for girls (Strength about 300) is being constructed. However there are lapses of physical facilities, the college is progressing well in academic as well as other aspects. We are indeed proud to take a note of it.

We the governing body see that the students and the staff are prepared to meet with the growing needs of the society, economy and the nation serving the cause of social justice, ensuring equality. We stress on the students being equipped with the global competencies, with the skilled human resources of a high caliber. India has pluralities of cultural, social, ethnic, religious reality. Under the circumstances, we inculcate among our students the moral values which help them establish oneness with these diverse groups. In our institution, the teaching-learning has not been traditional, but the staff has always been innovative with the integration of technology in teaching-learning process making education more enjoyable and effective. Excellence at all levels in the academic and administrative activities in the institution has been our motto.

I am pleased that our staff has been trying very hard in fulfilling the vision, mission and objectives of the institution.
